Last Friday I lived a religious experience. Who’s responsible for that? Marcos Morera, one of the best chefs in Barcelona, who offers services at your home. You may know him as Marcos Cocinarte online, the same one who began his adventures in gastronomy with Arzak and Neichel, and then got training in luxury service at Harrods in London. Almost nothing, right?!
You can’t even imagine how much I enjoyed Marcos being in my kitchen, watching him prepare an amazing menu: strawberry gazpacho, salmon tartar, hake with clams in green sauce and bread with chocolate, oil and salt. I must warn you: his flavour palette is addictive.
My expectations were high, but Marcos surpassed them by far. That same thing happened to the three couples of friends who were with us that night. It is an unbeatable equation: a chef who’s worthy of a Michelin Star + my place + my lifelong friends.
In addition? Marcos is an expert in cocktails. I’m having an idea for the next time… I think it will be a family thing.
I admit that this artist has become my saviour. If, like me, you don’t like (or you don’t know how) to cook or you don’t have time for it, Marcos delivers a menu of your choice to your home. Another option? He can come to your place and cook there. I opt for the second one! A bonus: his prices are very competitive.
I don’t want to finish writing this lines without highlighting the simplicity and the good work of this outstanding person, who earned our affection and admiration in a matter of hours. I quote a professor and friend, who gave me classes a long time ago: “there aren’t any good professionals who aren’t good people”. Amen.
