I believe that, at the table, as in life, the difference is in the small details. Perhaps for this reason, for more than a year, I was on the hunt for the perfect tableware. And I found it in a hidden atelier in Madrid.
My tableware is handmade and painted by Natalia López, Diego Ríos and Mª José Díez Morales; a three of a kind making unique pieces under the name Vajillas de Ultramar. “Our product has a story behind… It recalls a distant memory, a singular story…“, we are told among Limoges porcelain plates. Mine are resistant earthenware with a golden edge painted by hand. In addition? They have the initials of the surname of my husband and mine. A plus: its finish is intentionally imperfect. Just like the bread dishes painted with an animal print, which complete my collection. A brutal mix!
You may not enjoy the best food on my table (I don’t cook, and I don’t intend to do so in the short run), but you will surely enjoy the aesthetic and the heart of all the elements that give life to it.
